The Giant Pumpkin Festival
in Heidelberg, Western Cape

Set in the heart of the scenic countryside, the Giant Pumpkin Festival is a beloved event in Heidelberg, Western Cape, just 275 km from Cape Town. As one of the most anticipated festivals in the Hessequa region, it promises a weekend filled with fun, competition, and entertainment for the whole family.

The festival kicks off with a Golf Day at the beautiful Heidelberg Golf Club (Dates TBC), followed by two action-packed days at the Heidelberg Showgrounds (Dates TBC). Festival highlights include a 4×4 competition, a bowls tournament, and exciting live performances from well-known artists. Kids can look forward to amazing entertainment, while festival-goers can enjoy delicious food, local crafts, and much more.

Of course, the star of the show is the giant pumpkin weigh-off, with a grand prize of R17,500 for the heaviest pumpkin! Break the South African record, and you’ll walk away with a massive R30,000.
